"The Last Supper" by the Italian painter Leonardo da Vinci is the most famous mural in the world. It was created from 1494-97 by order of the Duke of Milan and now adorns the north wall of the dining room (refectory) of the Dominican monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. It is considered the high point of Leonado's painterly work and a milestone of the Renaissance.
The picture measures 422 cm × 904 cm and shows Jesus with the twelve apostles just after he had said to them at their last meal together on the eve of his crucifixion: "One of you will betray me".

"Das letzte Abendmahl" des ital. Malers Leonardo da Vinci ist das berühmteste Wandgemählde der Welt. Es wurde von 14 94-97 im Auftrag des Mailänder Herzoges geschaffen und schmückt nun die Nordwand des Speisesaales (Refektorium) des Dominikaner-Klosters Santa Maria delle Grazie in Mailand. Es gilt als Höhepunkt Leonados malerischen Schaffens und als Meilenstein der Renaissance.

Das Bild misst 422 cm × 904 cm und zeigt Jesus mit den zwölf Aposteln, unmittelbar nachdem dieser ihnen beim letzten gemeinsamen Essen am Vorabend seiner Kreuzigung gesagt hatte: „Einer von euch wird mich verraten“
